During the winter months, the Zandvoort Circuit and the Dutch National Racing Team host the Winter Endurance Series on the famous beach side race track. The chequered flag has already dropped on the Zandvoort 500 and New Year’s events, but we still have the series finale to look forward to. The final event consists of a 240 minute, 310 mile race. Lights are set to go out 30 minutes past 12 on March 5th.

Participating in the event is Kool Racing Team, proudly sponsored by APEX. Martijn Kool and Marcel ter Horst will be driving for Kool Racing and they will be doing so in a specially prepared Porsche 911 GT3. The GT3 is equipped with a 3.8 liter horizontally opposed 6 cylinder engine that revs out to 8500 RPM. Maximum power is 338 kW. Combined with the extremely low curb weight, this race-ready 911 achieves 60 miles an hour in under four seconds and, even with its short gearing, is able to reach a 175 mile per hour top speed.

Along with Martijn and Marcel’s breadth of experience, the car should be more than enough to achieve a great result, but Kool Racing Team will be facing fierce competition from DNRT, ACNN, DRDO and international racing series veterans.
